Meet Grandma Margot
If we've not met before, I'm Margot.
I'm the sort of grandmother who believes that almost everything feels a little better after a cup of tea, something warm from the oven, and a good chat around the kitchen table.
I live by the Cornish coast, where the days are shaped by the tides, the weather has a mind of its own, and every season seems to bring a new little joy to notice. I find happiness in morning walks, well-loved recipe books, flowers that insist on growing where they please, and the comforting routines that make a house feel like home.
I've always believed that kindness doesn't have to be grand. Sometimes it's simply remembering a favourite recipe, sharing a story from years gone by, or sending a letter that reminds someone they're not alone.
That's why I began writing these monthly letters.
Each one is written as though I'm sitting across the table from you, with the kettle gently whistling in the background. Inside you'll find stories from Cornwall, seasonal recipes, little activities to enjoy, gentle reflections, and the sort of encouragement a grandmother might quietly offer without expecting anything in return.
Life can feel wonderfully busy, but also rather noisy. My hope is that these letters become a small pause in your month. A reason to slow down, put the kettle on, and spend a few peaceful moments with someone who is always happy to see you.
So, whether you're looking for a little comfort, a touch of nostalgia, or simply a friendly letter waiting on your doormat each month, I'd be delighted to become your pen pal.
With love,
Margot
