My dear,
I was just thinking of you this morning while the kettle was beginning its usual grumble, and the gulls were making quite a fuss over something out at sea.
It's like that here in Cornwall. Never entirely quiet, but never hurried either. The kind of place where time seems to stretch its legs a little.
I took my tea into the garden today. The roses are being rather brave this year, considering the wind they've had to put up with. You'd like them, I think.
There's something about living here that teaches you to notice things.
The way the evening light rests on the sea.
The smell of salt that lingers on your coat.
The comfort of familiar little routines.
I sometimes think we all need a little more of that. A little less rushing. A little more noticing.
That's part of why I started writing these letters. Not because I have anything particularly important to say, but because gentle things have a habit of making ordinary days feel a little brighter.
Each month I'll tuck a letter into an envelope with a favourite recipe, a seasonal activity or two, and a few thoughts from my little corner of Cornwall.
If you'd like another letter next month, I'd be delighted to write again.

Next month I might tell you about the little bakery down the road. They make the most extraordinary saffron buns, though I suspect it's the chatter inside that makes them taste even better.
Or perhaps I'll share a recipe that's become rather well loved in my kitchen, or a few simple things to do when the weather keeps us indoors.
You needn't write back, of course. But I like to imagine that somewhere between the busy parts of your day, you'll find a quiet moment, put the kettle on, and unfold another letter.
That would be enough.
